The grounds are beautiful, but not traditionally manicured. Throughout the evening we are strongly encouraging you to walk around, play games and participate in other planned activities. Please be prepared for some uneven ground.

The Entrance to the Akers' Property

If coming from Eugene - heading eastbound on highway 58, approximately 2 miles from Interstate 5 you will cross the river, then immediately turn right onto Cloverdale Rd.
Once on Cloverdale, just 300 feet ahead, instead of following the curve to the left, you will continue straight and find the open gate welcoming you to our wedding! There will be wayfinding signs to look out for.

It probably gonna be hot.
We've planned to have lots of shade and refreshments to keep you cool. Dress comfortably and wear comfortable shoes. If you gotta wear those block heels or wedges, bring back ups. Heels are generally not recommended.
Getting Home
Want to carpool and have the freedom to party late and leave when you're ready? We got you.
There will be two drivers available to provide rides home starting at 9 pm.
We want you to linger and have a good time, so please take advantage of this service. 
Please don't hesitate to leave your car overnight - it is a secure and private property. We have no doubt we can help you figure out how to pick up your car the next day.

The dinner buffet will be available for the next 2 hours - our wonderful caterer will be grilling onsite, so the food will always be fresh. Please enjoy at your leisure while continuing to play and explore.

That's right! Our weekly trivia tradition is coming to you! The last four years we have pretty-darn consistently attended trivia with Geo (voted best trivia in Eugene year after year) on Monday nights at Public House with our teammates and our humble venue hosts, Daniel and Amanda. Can you beat The Busy Zookeepers??

World Cup Watch Party

The day after the wedding will be the final game of the 2026 World Cup! We will gather at Public House in Springfield (we have a private room reserved - The Study), where there are several great options for grabbing some food and drinks.

What to Wear

Garden Party Attire

Think light, bright, and bold! Comfort is top priority, as the ceremony and festivities are outdoors in the middle of July. Go for flowy and breathable, polished but comfortable.
🌺 Extra kudos for flower power patterns!
🥿 Ladies, opt for comfy flats or wedges. Mother Nature's dance floor can be fickle!
👔 Gents, go with breezy shirts and khaki-esque trousers. Jackets and ties? Up to you!
🌄 As dusk descends, remember: a jacket is a friend that never offends!

The Venue

Over the river and through the woods, to the Akers' house we go! 
What better place to bring together family and friends than at the home of family that are friends? 
Amanda (who I lovingly refer to as my aunt-cousin), and her husband Daniel, generously offered to host our wedding celebration on their fabulous property - and we said yes!
We are so honored and grateful - and excited! - for the opportunity to host everyone in this special place.
Located just 5 miles south of Eugene off of highway 58, the Akers' property is quick and easy to get to. Look out for signage that will guide you to the appropriate entrance. There is space for parking, but it is limited, so please carpool if you can.

Eugene Airport (EUG)

We love the Eugene airport! Just 20 minutes to downtown, and less than 30 minutes to the venue. 

Portland International Airport (PDX)

Flying into Portland is also an option. It is a 2 hour drive to Eugene from PDX.

Campus Inn has a reputation for being comfortable and clean with friendly staff and ownership. It is centrally located between downtown and the University, so is quite walkable, but is on a busy road and funky intersection which can be challenging to navigate and may be a bit noisy. Here are our recommendations for things to do in and around the Eugene area.

Eugene Area

Eugene Saturday Market- downtown in the park blocks, this is a market not to miss! Perfect place to find a special souvenir to take home.
Hike Spencer's Butte - lovely woods and a challenging stair-step to the top. On a clear day you can get a fantastic view of several (hopefully still snow-capped!) mountains, and always a bird's eye view of the city and surrounding valley.
Skinner's Butte Park - near downtown, great views of the city with accessible trails
Shop & Dine at 5th Street Public Market
Kalena's favorite store - The Clothes Horse - the BEST selection of curated secondhand clothes at GREAT prices (with a small men's selection).
PLAY - food, drinks, and FUN! Batting cage, VR Golf, Shuffle Board, Arcade games.
Bike! - Eugene is equipped with world-class biking infrastructure. Bike the river path and visit the Rose Garden!

Near Town (ish)

Silver Falls State Park - approximately 75 miles, or 1.5 hours northeast of Eugene, Silver Falls State Park is an amazing scenic gem not far off of instate 5. Barring global pandemics and (im)perfectly-timed pregnancies, the Silver Falls annual Trail Run is a tradition! Kalena (and now Patrick!) have cheered on Maid of Honor Liz while she ran several races, including more than one ULTRA marathon!
Visit the Nature Center, walk behind a waterfall, or scope out Smith Creek Village for your next visit to Oregon! (we seriously considered hosting our wedding here - it's so beautiful and quintessentially OREGON!)
Oregon Coast - about 60 miles, or 1 hour and 15 minutes away, the Oregon Coast isn't far! A day trip from Eugene to the Florence area + north a bit to Heceta Head Lighthouse (another wedding venue contender) is a great option for a unique Oregon Experience.
